The Dam's Carp vary in size from a couple of pounds right up into the 20s. Grass, Common and Mirror being the most common of these, but there is also a number of Ghosties and Crucians, and a couple of very big Gold Fish/Koi on the prowl.

A Weekend on the Dam 19th - 21st Sept 2008
Mark James(Ezra) along with brother Bill and son George decided on a weekends Carp fishing late in the week, all 3 members pitched up on pegs 32,33 and 34 on the Friday, bivvied up, baited up and got set for a few days fishing. And the weekend finished with a new lake record Carp.
And what a great start it was , with very good Carp and Silver fish catches coming out from most pegs.
Several members pitched their bivvy's before midnight ready for the big off at midnight, and almost as soon as the bait was in the water, bite alarms started to sound out, quite a few fish were lost before one of our bailiff's, Bill, landed a Mirror of 11lb 7oz, quickly followed by another Mirror of 14lb 2oz, both fish from peg 31.
On the other side of the lake on peg 16, Shane arrived and started fishing bread crust around 3:30am, and was soon into a 'Grassie' of 12lb 1oz. He quickly followed that up with a Common of 13lb 2oz, before he finished his night off with a magnificent ' Grassie' of 18lb 7oz ( a Lawn Dam record for a 'Grassie')

On peg 1 was Robert Baker who also pitched up his bivvy before midnight, and was rewarded with a magnificent Koi that fell in the early hours, it weighed 12lb 8oz.

Another successful Carp match was fished over the weekend, and the lake fished quite well again, with the lake record Carp coming out again, and again to fishery bailiff Ezra, the Carp weighed the exact same as it did this time last year, 23lb 8oz, Ezra fished peg 34, and the fish fell to a bait cocktail of spicy shrimp & prawn boiley.
The junior match was won by Alex and George who shared peg 27, they caught a 10lb common, which was the winning fish for the junior's match.
All in all 10 fish were caught, Carp, Tench and 1 Bream, well enjoyed by the 10 anglers that bivved up on Friday at 4pm, and finished the match on Sunday at 3:30pm.
